Conversing With Niki Stylianou
I have always felt very identified with Gesine Hackenberg's work, the concept of her work has many parallels with mine. The transformation of everyday objects into wearable art. Also the way she use existing objects as raw material. The circle of the Pandora ring comes from industrial porcelain waste, in this case the handle of a coffee cup. The spoon flies as Gesine's piece seems to fly. Porcelain plays as it pleases, I let myself go, light and shadow, empty and full, fragility, silent and open shapes. A ring to put in the mouth, to savor and to dream.
