META Ti

The newly established group “META Ti”, comprising of eight female jewelry artists, is participating in the organization JELO6 Project, aiming at introducing itself to the audience by stating that jewelry is not only about ornamentation, but at the same time it is a means of expression and communication. Driven by their distinctiveness, the jewelers, through group work, team spirit and respect for one another are exploring new paths in art. The body is redefined as a space on which experiences are registered. Symbols of safety are limiting freedom, forming restraints, giving rise to immobility and suffocation. The need to embrace oneself, is a necessity for women carrying multiple roles. The memory of the mother and the affectionate relationship in the caress of velvet, the euphoric thrill of a tender erotic touch, the contradictions between soft and hard, steel and airy, love and death, spiritual and material, are underlining the uniqueness of each jeweler.
