Artist Statement

The Foliage collection approaches the mind as an inner garden, dense and alive. I create the works entirely from used textiles, mainly T-shirts, which I repurpose to highlight the importance of sustainability and the transformation of materials. I dye the fabrics with inks and watercolors and join them with threads, hand-sewn through a slow process that requires patience and care. The foliage forms that emerge function for me as a refuge, a space I return to, when I need protection and calm. Just as dense vegetation creates shade and safety, my works become a place of inner pause, where I can withdraw, regather myself, and reconnect with who I am.
