Just as humans are fragments of contemporary life, similarly, jewelry symbolically represents a fragment of human expression.
Since antiquity, humans have harbored a desire to adorn their bodies, initially with objects or trophies procured from nature, and later with the incorporation of precious metals and stones. The evolution of jewelry has always been, and continues to be, closely intertwined with human activity. Adornment serves not only as decoration for the human body, but also as a means of making an impression on others. As we trace its evolutionary trajectory, we observe a gradual acquisition of privileged status, transforming into a symbol of wealth, power, and authority.
Today, the human need for self-expression underscores a readiness for redefining the meaning and use of jewelry. With its conceptual and symbolic significance prioritized, the object has transcended its role as mere adornment; it now serves as a statement of the artist and a medium for externalizing thoughts and emotions, political and social stances, and viewpoints. Individuals from diverse backgrounds, encompassing the arts and sciences, opt to engage and express themselves through conceptual jewelry.
My journey with jewelry commenced with the accumulation of various techniques and applications that I learned and practiced. Concurrently, my studies in applied arts equipped me with the knowledge and skills to observe, compose, and execute. The fusion of these abilities facilitated the evolution of my path within the field—from a voyage of exploration, experimentation, documentation, and transformation of "materials", into a deeply personal journey that I fully embodied as experience. I was fascinated by, and dedicated my work to, the demanding and multidimensional world of jewelry.
For me, everything begins with the initial stimulus, which could be an object that prompts me to study, interpret, and utilize it. It might also originate from a thought, an emotion evoked by the verses of a poem; a memory I wish to express and share; or a moment of spirituality that shapes a personal myth.
I am interested in the decay and regeneration of natural bodies and inorganic materials. I pose questions to myself. When an object completes a "life" cycle, does it cease to exist? And if so, does its ending mark the beginning of a new cycle? Is this process perpetual? Are the possibilities inexhaustible?
Every stimulus can be transformed from imagined material into a field of personal expression. As a principle, everything in the world undergoes transformation, evolving into something new and different. Nothing remains stable in the flow of time; everything is in constant motion, changing shape and form. This process of perpetual change constitutes the indefinite and indeterminate essence of MATTER. Matter embodies energy and force in their purest forms, serving as the medium through which the vague becomes specific, the indirect becomes direct, and the variable becomes stable. Matter defines space, time, and quality, serving as the means and tool that empower me to "shape," to mold, and to express myself.
The sacredness that every piece of jewelry hides is what I want to highlight. A revelation of lost moments, hidden images, and visible emotions. Something beyond sensory perception, behind the visible and the tangible. Something spiritual and immaterial.
The process of exploring materials and experimenting with them is profoundly addictive, captivating, imbued with magic, and outmost creativity. It stands as both the Alpha and the Omega of my artistic evolution, the driving force behind my work. I wholeheartedly dedicate myself to this process, allowing it to lead and inspire me as I shape and ultimately bring my creations to fruition.
I am intersested in form in both its organic and inorganic manifestations, whether approached with specificity or abstraction. Each endeavor conceals a new identity, a fresh outcome that may evoke excitement or disappointment. It can prompt the adoption of varied research and recording methodologies, unveiling novel elements and qualities.
I aspire for the gestures that emerge from this process to be fertile, effectively communicating my concerns, perspectives, visions, and memories. I seek to illuminate the inherent sanctity within each piece of jewelry, revealing lost moments, concealed images, and palpable emotions. This transcends mere sensory perception, delving into realms beyond the visible and tangible, into the spiritual and immaterial. LILI PREVE.

ΥΠΟΤΥΠΩΣΕΙΣ ΤΗΣ ΥΛΗΣ

Όπως ο άνθρωπος αποτελεί θραύσμα της σύγχρονης ζωής, όμοια και το Κοσμημα αποτελεί θραύσμα της ανθρώπινης έκφρασης.
Από την αρχαιότητα οι άνθρωποι επιθυμούσαν να κοσμούν το σώμα τους, στην αρχή με αντικείμενα-τρόπαια από τη φύση, αργότερα με πολύτιμα μέταλλα και λίθους. Η εξέλιξη του κοσμήματος ήταν και παραμένει άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένη με την ανθρώπινη δραστηριότητα. Χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως στολίδι του ανθρώπινου σώματος αλλά και στοιχείο εντυπωσιασμού. Ακολουθώντας τα ίχνη της εξέλιξής του, παρατηρούμε πως σταδιακά απέκτησε προνομιακό χαρακτήρα και αποτέλεσε ένδειξη πλούτου, δύναμης και επιβολής.
Σήμερα η ανάγκη του ανθρώπου για αυτοέκφραση, επαναπροσδιορίζει τη σημασία και τη χρήση του κοσμήματος. Απέκτησε εννοιακό (εννοιολογικό) περιεχόμενο και υψηλό συμβολισμό. Έπαψε να είναι απλά ένα αντικείμενο ομορφιάς, έγινε δήλωση και θέση του καλλιτέχνη, μέσο εξωτερίκευσης σκέψεων και συναισθημάτων, πολιτικών, κοινωνικών θέσεων και απόψεων.
Άνθρωποι προερχόμενοι από διαφορετικούς χώρους, τέχνες και επιστήμες επιλέγουν να εμπλακούν και να εκφραστούν μέσα από το εννοιολογικό κόσμημα.
Η επαφή μου με το κόσμημα, ξεκίνησε σαν συλλογή γνώσεων διαφορετικών τεχνικών και εφαρμογών. Ταυτόχρονα οι σπουδές μου στις εφαρμοσμένες τέχνες, μου προσέφεραν τη γνώση αλλά και την ικανότητα να παρατηρώ, να συνθέτω και να εφαρμόζω. Ο συνδυασμός αυτών των δύο εξελίχθηκε, από μια πορεία εξερεύνησης, πειραματισμού, καταγραφής και μεταμόρφωσης των «υλικών» σε μια δική μου ενσώματη εμπειρία. Γοητεύτηκα και αφοσιώθηκα στον απαιτητικό και πολυδιάστατο κόσμο του κοσμήματος.
Όλα ξεκινούν από το αρχικό ερέθισμα.
Μπορεί να είναι ένα αντικείμενο που με προ(σ)καλεί να το μελετήσω, να το ερμηνεύσω, να το χρησιμοποιήσω.Μια σκέψη, ένα συναίσθημα που ξεπήδησε από τους στίχους ενός ποιήματος. Κάποια ανάμνηση, που επιθυμώ να εκφράσω και να μοιραστώ. Μια στιγμή πνευματικότητας που θα οδηγήσει σε μια προσωπική μυθο-λογία.
Με ενδιαφέρει η φθορά και η αναδημιουργία των φυσικών σωμάτων και των ανόργανων υλικών.
Θέτω ερωτήματα στον εαυτό μου.
Όταν ένα αντικείμενο ολοκληρώνει ένα κύκλο «ζωής», παύει να υπάρχει;
Και αν αυτό το τέλος είναι η αρχή ενός νέου; Αυτή η πορεία, είναι αέναη; Οι δυνατότητες; Ανεξάντλητες;
Κάθε ερέθισμα μπορεί να μετατραπεί από ύλη της φαντασίας, σε πεδίο προσωπικής έκφρασης.
Είναι αρχή πως κάθε τι στον κόσμο, μεταμορφώνεται σε κάτι νέο, κάτι διαφορετικό. Τίποτα δεν παραμένει σταθερό στη ροή του χρόνου. Τα πάντα βρίσκονται σε διαρκή κίνηση, αλλάζουν φόρμα και μορφή, μεταβάλλονται.
Αυτή η διαδικασία της αλλαγής, είναι το ακαθόριστο και το απροσδιόριστο στοιχείο της ΥΛΗΣ.
Η ύλη, είναι η ενέργεια και η δύναμη στην πιο καθαρή μορφή της.
Είναι εκείνη που μετατρέπει το ασαφές σε συγκεκριμένο, το έμμεσο σε άμεσο, το μεταβλητό σε σταθερό. Προσδιορίζει τον χώρο, τον χρόνο και την ποιότητα.
Είναι το μέσο, το εργαλείο που μου δίνει τη δυνατότητα να «πλάσω», να διαμορφώσω και να εκφραστώ.
Η διαδικασία της εξερεύνησης των υλικών και ο πειραματισμός με αυτά, είναι το πιο εθιστικό, μαγικό και δημιουργικό κομμάτι. Είναι το Α και το Ω στην εξέλιξη της δουλειάς μου και η κινητήριος δύναμη. Αφοσιώνομαι σε αυτή και αφήνομαι να με οδηγήσει στην μορφοποίηση και την τελική υλοποίηση του έργου μου.
Με ενδιαφέρει η φόρμα στην οργανική και ανόργανη μορφή της, μέσα από την συγκεκριμένη ή και την αφηρημένη της προσέγγιση.
Κάθε δοκιμή κρύβει μια νέα ταυτότητα, ένα νέο αποτέλεσμα που μπορεί να ενθουσιάσει αλλά και να απογοητεύσει. Μπορεί να οδηγήσει στη διαμόρφωση διαφορετικών προσεγγίσεων έρευνας και καταγραφής και να αναδείξει νέα στοιχεία και ποιότητες.
Επιθυμώ , η χειρονομία που θα προκύψει να είναι γόνιμη, να επικοινωνεί τους προβληματισμούς μου και τις θέσεις μου, τα οράματα και τις αναμνήσεις μου.
Η ιερότητα που κρύβει κάθε κόσμημα, είναι εκείνο που θέλω να αναδείξω. Μια αποκάλυψη χαμένων στιγμών, κρυμμένων εικόνων και ορατών συναισθημάτων.
Κάτι πέρα από την πρόσληψη των αισθήσεων, πίσω από το ορατό και το απτό.
