Sofia Björkman
JEWELRY
Artist Statement
My life is a landscape of jewellery and wearable art. Within this landscape, I create, curate, exhibit, and enjoy the magic of making and thinking. My studio is based in Stockholm, while my work travels widely. Mobility and flexibility are essential qualities of jewellery as an art form, expanding the meaning and context of each piece. I work as an artist, gallery owner, and curator, continually inspired by audiences, colleagues, and friends. Encounters with people shape my creative process and deepen my understanding of the work. In the exhibition “One Side of the Other”, I present objects inspired by people’s comments, bringing together a multitude of thoughts and ideas.
