Artist Statement
The inspiration for the ‘Live Like a Summer Flower’ series comes from a dear friend of mine who is bravely battling breast cancer. Her journey through cancer has deeply moved me: even a fleeting life should strive to blossom like a summer flower. I created plaster sculptures modelled on cancer survivors, and using gold and their shed hair, I fashioned them into golden flowers, symbolising courage and resilience.
Regarding the exhibition, I think your suggestion is excellent, though at present I do not have any small-scale works.
