Artist Statement

Lily Kanellopoulou’s practice is defined by a strong sense of authenticity and a deep fidelity to her own inner world. Guided by her personal instincts, beliefs, symbols, and sensibilities, she develops a visual language that remains unmistakably her own. Although she experiments with a wide range of materials, resin holds a central place in her practice. Through techniques she has gradually developed over time, she transforms it into forms that often feel organic and almost naturally occurring. Her work balances material exploration with strong symbolic presence, and excellent craftmanship, creating pieces that are both visually distinctive and conceptually grounded. A strange sense of beauty — often carrying echoes of classical Greek harmony and proportion — remains central to her aesthetics, always held in careful balance with materiality and meaning.
