Artist Statement

Dora Haralambaki’s practice is rooted in presence and transformation. Rather than dwelling on the past, she uses it as material for building forward, allowing memory and experience to evolve into new forms. Although she is not driven by perfectionism, her works often convey a remarkable sense of precision and completeness. Economy of means is central to her approach. For Dora, earth, water, and the simplest materials are enough to give form to a symbol and bring a piece into existence. Through an intuitive understanding of material, she creates subtle transformations and visual ambiguities: paper can resemble metal, while metal — worked to extreme delicacy — can appear like drawing or painting in space. Her work carries a quiet yet powerful ability to narrate stories about the creation of life, femininity, and inner strength through minimal gestures and restrained forms.With simplicity and sensitivity, Dora consistently leaves behind a strong and lasting impression.
