This work comes from slowness. From daily jogs on quiet roads in rural Italy, where fallen oak leaves curled like small sculptures along the edges. I’d notice their shapes—spirals, folds, the soft pattern of decay—and later, in the studio, repeat those forms by hand. I cut, bend, solder, over and over. There’s rhythm in it, a kind of breath. My background in weaving taught me methodical repetition and intricate sequencing. These pieces are about memory in the body, and what the hands remember too. Foglie is made from silver, gold, and time. It’s an invitation to slow down, to notice, and to feel the circularity of time, as one does in the countryside.
