Artist Statement

"A Dialogue of Contrasts" explores the relationship between strict geometric structures and the plasticity of organic forms. The delicate lines and the elasticity of the organic form required protection. The geometrical structures created to reinforce them build a dialogue of contrasts: stability versus instability, rigid versus elastic, and heavy versus light. These coexisting contrasts work together for the creation of a whole.

Curriculum Vitae

Born in Athens, Greece, Lily Kanellopoulou studied at the Vakalo Art and Design College and the Acting School of Drama Hatjikou in Athens. She later pursued silversmithing, jewelry, and metalwork studies in Athens and Florence between 2012 and 2017. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions from 2013 to 2026, including Athens Jewelry Week (2018, 2019), JOYA Barcelona (2018, 2019), Romanian Jewelry Week (2022), the Israel Biennale of Contemporary Jewelry (2022), and the JELO6 Project (2024). Her accolades include national awards for textile fashion design at Textilia in Greece (1984, 1985), the JOYA Barcelona winner’s award (2019), and the Grand Award at Romanian Jewelry Week (2022).
