Violence, war, climate change—the sense of security is being eroded in our fast-moving times. Fear forces us to shield ourselves as we numbly stare at the news. Anger is not expressed. We feel powerless to react, continuing in our lives. The pain is intense, conscious or not, as the records of the events are engraved in our psyche and become open wounds that steadily integrate into us. Maria Karystinou participated in the publication of JELO6 Athens 2024 as a member of the METATI team.
