Artist Statement

I liken tradition to a root—it is there from the moment we are born, acting as our base. But how do you develop this root? We can water it too much until it rots, or we might forget it until it dries up. Finally, we can choose to care for it with love and freedom so that it can flourish in the 'today and now.' Fairytale is the result of my own healthy root: a moment when dreams come true and tradition helps us to evolve.
