Rena Metaxa
CERAMICS
Artist Statement
Female figure that seems to have escaped from my frames, carrying on hew body marks of wear and experience — bearer of a memory that insists on transforming.
Memory is not neutral; it is a field of conflict. What is recorded gains substance, recalling losses and collective traumas.
Memory is an act — and every act carries political weight.
