Iro Kaskani
JEWELRY
Artist Statement
The series Small Acts of Resilience approaches jewelry as a small yet meaningful gesture in public space. What one chooses to wear on their body as they step into the city expresses a position toward the world. These pieces emerged from thoughts that accompany everyday life—quiet inner monologues moving between doubt, disappointment, and the need to carry on, sometimes crystallizing into short sentences. Built from layered wood and dried tree bark, the forms reveal fractures, stitches, and points of holding together. Oxidized silver and gold leaf act as subtle elements of repair and support, forming fragile wearable structures that reflect the continuous effort to remain whole in an uncertain world.
