Artist Statement

With the works presented here, I aim to explore art as a personal expression of conflicting elements. Works that form a harmony between two very different disciplines : ceramics and jewelry. A ceramic piece, created using "humble" materials: earth and water, meets a jewel made from "noble" materials like silver or semi-precious stones. A ceramic pot, a symbol of usefulness for rich and poor alike, joins a jewel, a symbol of ornament. The two influence one another: a pot can become brilliant, covered with gold; while a jewel can be created by simple materials from nature.
