Do you want to explore the relationship between usability, sustainability and authenticity, or engage with the public by presenting your own unique point of view? Then maybe it's the right time to leave your workshop and join forces in this action together.

FASHION FORWARD aims to create a new space for interaction that transcends the boundaries of all forms of self-expression focused on the human body, its garments, and adornments.

​

This is an initiative aimed at Contemporary Jewelers, Textile, Fashion, and Accessory Designers, as well as all Artists and 'Architects' of Materiality, who share a preference for the path of conceptual exploration, investigating the concepts of wearable art, usability, and sustainability, while experimenting with form, structure, and their boundless possibilities.

The invitation encourages the exchange of information and ideas, fostering interaction among creative fields, while also seeking to establish a dialogue between Greek and foreign designers, manufacturers, or companies active in these respective fields.

 

• In particular, the initiative aims to:

  • Inform and acquaint the public with Contemporary Jewelry and Fashion as forms of art, creative expression, and/or commentary/activism.

  • Raise awareness among the public about sustainability, usability, and authenticity in a time when everything is often reduced to products for rapid consumption.

  • Provide support for individual creators and creative groups within this space.

  • Facilitate the gathering and collaboration of all interested parties, including galleries, shops, collectors, and buyers, through communication and networking.

FASHION FORWARD is organized by the AJMIG and JELO6 teams.

​

• TARGET AUDIENCE:

The FASHION FORWARD 2024 event is aimed at jewelry schools, fashion schools, independent designers/manufacturers, and brands from all over the world.

The forms of participation it offers are two:

​

1. ​FFW Designers’ Exhibition: Participants exhibit their creations on an exhibition surface/table provided by the organization (open to accessory designers/makers of: bags, shoes, belts, hats, scarves, sun-glasses).

2. FFW Show: fashion show/performance: (open to all: clothing, footwear, jewelry, other accessories).

 

There are no restrictions on the material, type, or conceptual background of the proposals to be submitted.

 

As the objective of the event is to present to the wider public the specificities, diversity, and artistic dimension of Contemporary Jewelry, Clothing, and Accessories, special attention will be paid to proposals that underline the multidimensional character of contemporary artistic creativity in the specific area, while focusing on the ideology and aesthetics that the field brings forward currently.

• SUGGESTED TOPIC TO FOCUS ON

As the event will coincide with 'A JEWEL MADE IN GREECE' and 'JEWELRY + OBJECTS + AND OUR 6th SENSE,' the following topics will be emphasized and proposed as focal points in this inaugural edition:

1. The Woman: Explore the significance of the feminine energy and its role in the processes of realization/materialization, change, and transformation.

2. Fashion and Sustainable Expression: Investigate the relationship between fashion and sustainable practices.

Artists, groups, galleries, and schools interested in participating should be prepared to present their work in person and join us for the opening.

• At least 2 photos of pieces worn by a model.

• EXHIBITION SPACE, AMENITIES:

The exhibition will take place at ZAPPIO MEGARO.

The participants will be given a table, a seat, a sign with their name, and a background (perhaps a popup "spider" similar for all creators, so as to ensure the harmony and coherence of the exhibition)

 

• DELIVERY, SETTING UP OF THE PROJECTS ON EXHIBITION:

The Creators who will participate in the Accessories Exhibition, i.e. in the FFW Designer's Exhibition, should present themselves at ZAPPIO MEGARO and set up their work in collaboration with our teams, on Friday 23/2/2024, 8 am - 12 pm (12pm doors of the event open for the public, while the official opening is scheduled for 7.30 pm on the same day). They can collect their works on Monday 26/2/2024) after the end of the exhibition (8 pm-10 pm).

ORGANIZERS' OBLIGATIONS:

FASHION FORWARD is organized by the WE events team, consisting of AJMIG and JELO6.

​

The WE events team is responsible for curating, coordinating, and managing all communications related to the entire event. Specifically, their responsibilities include:

1. Ensuring smooth cooperation among the private entities involved for the duration of the event.

2. Managing event communication and promotion through print media (magazines, newspapers), radio, social media, press releases, and private guided tours led by journalists.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The following terms and conditions apply to exhibitors participating in FASHION FORWARD 2024.

The organization reserves the right to revise these terms and conditions without notice in cases of force majeure.

​

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION:

• All exhibitors must submit a complete application package by the stated deadline.

• All information submitted must be accurate and up-to-date. Only complete applications will be considered.

• The Organizers reserve the right to accept or reject any application, and their decision is final.

• Applicants acknowledge that by having their application accepted, they automatically agree to the terms outlined herein, which will be part of the contract to be signed between both parties.

• All entry fees must be paid by the due date.

• FFW reserves the right to refuse to include in the exhibition any materials or products that are not suitable for the purpose and conditions of the exhibition.

• FFW will not be responsible for the costs of transportation, shipping, and insurance of the exhibits.

• FFW and Zappio Megaro will provide security at the exhibition area. However, exhibitors are solely responsible for any risk of loss or damage. We recommend that participants insure their jewelry against theft, loss, or damage that could occur during the event, including transportation and storage.

SALES AND COMMISSIONS:

FFW permits artists to sell their work or take special orders or commissions during the exhibition without intervention from the organizer. The organization does not manage sales or orders/commissions between artists and potential customers. The use of invoices or legal receipts for all sales is mandatory and should comply with applicable regulations. Creators and exhibitors are responsible for adhering to these regulations during any sale or transaction at the event. The organization does not bear any tax liability and therefore does not have a credit/debit card terminal for this purpose.

​

PHOTO/VIDEO:

Participants agree to grant the organization the right to use photographic and/or video material provided by the artists, as well as any visual material produced during the exhibition, for advertising purposes in various media, such as the internet, catalogs, posters, magazines, short films, etc.

In case of termination of cooperation, the organization is not obligated to remove photos that may have been uploaded to the internet for promotional purposes.

​

CANCELLATIONS:

The organization reserves the right to cancel any participation if it concludes that the information provided by the participant is false or if the participant fails to comply with the specified criteria and dates. Cancellation of the contract by the participant, should they decide to withdraw after making a payment, will result in a fine equal to 100% of the total value of the participation. Refunds cannot be issued unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by the Organizers.
